The Radio Story I first started doing radio shows when I was a wee nipper at the age of 12. I was a regular on "Habbo Hotel" and got chatting to a guy who was starting up his own Habbo Radio Station. He asked me if I would be interested so after very little thought I said yes and became a DJ on Habbo station, HHIA Radio doing 2 shows a week. HHIA Radio died after a few months. Since I enjoyed doing my shows on HHIA I went seeking for a slot on other Habbo stations. After a bit of hunting I met the owner of a radio station called Club Habbo. I got a slot on there very easily. I presented on Club Habbo for over a year and built up a good repetition on Habbo which was a plus for when I left Club Habbo due to personal reasons. Since I had been heard by loads of "habbos" world wide it wasn't long until someone offered me a slot on their radio station. This Radio Station was Loud Live Radio and was not Habbo based at all - this was my first proper internet radio station. After a few months on this station I became radio manager and made jingles for the site - this is where I discovered my talent of audio editing. The owner of LoudLive (who I shall not name) didn't pay the bills for the station so I just died which I was disappointed about after all my hard work I had put into the station but what can you do? Loud Live has tried to make a come back in 2007 but it failed - probably because I refused to manage it again. After Loud Live I was off the air for about 6 months. I found out about a new DAB Digital radio station from a friend that I applied at and got a slot a few times a week. This station was SixHits Digital Radio. SixHits was great. I was on that station for a good few years then I left there to go to Off The Chart Radio. Sixhits was officially DAB Digital but to this day it still isn't. It is now called Sense Radio and only broadcasts online. This takes us to my current station, Off The Chart Radio. For a year I have done weekly shows but sadly I have had to step down due to college. I still am at the station as a cover DJ and I do appear in the special events. Hopefully after college I can do weekly shows again. For the future I hope to broadcast on Virgin Radio. I'm have an NQ qualification in Media and am currently studying HNC Radio Broadcasting in Edinburgh. I'll pass it of course. |
